Tahoe AQ 50 Celebration - Well Done!

Postby Gemma68 » Fri Aug 17, 2012 9:32 pm

To Riva Club USA-

Ron and I want to thank everyone who worked so hard to put together the AQ 50 event at Lake Tahoe. We came, we boated, and we had a great time.

Although we’ve been members since the club’s inception, we haven’t actively participated in anything since leaving Tahoe for the lakes of the Pacific Northwest in 2004. So for us it was nice to return to see so many familiar faces and old friends and to meet the newer members as well. For most of us, these boats represent how we spend our leisure and play time. For some, it’s their livelihood. But all of us come together to celebrate a love of wood and water and the marriage of wood, water, engineering and style that makes Rivas the most imitated boats in the world.

These kinds of events don’t just happen. It takes the combined efforts of many people to pull off a boat show with over 30 Rivas on display, cocktail receptions, extravagant gift bags, a catered brunch with a temporary mooring line for everyone’s boats including ship-to-shore transport, a cruise and picnic to Emerald Bay, an annual dinner at Garwoods and entertaining our Italian guests.

So our hats are off to everyone to participated to make this event a reality, from the management and crew at Sierra Boat Company, including Herb Hall and Pat Bagan, Dale and Donna Reynolds, our president Dirk Reed, Marty Feletto, Steve Hanst, Debra Selak for the centerpieces at the annual dinner, Roy Dryer for this year’s Concours d’Elegance poster, the Riva judging team (Paul Mehus, Ron Schultz, Alan Weinstein, Eric Thearling and Don Ayers), Dave and Diane Paul for graciously allowing all of us to invade their lakeside property for a lovely brunch, and all the Riva owners who so graciously shared their boats at the Concours d’Elegance. Thank you to all who worked so hard to make this event a reality and a success. Well Done!

For those of you who want to try out our lakes in the Northwest, the ACBS 2013 International Meeting and Boat Show will be held in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho on our home lake. They’ve not seen many Rivas other than ours and it would be fun to have more Rivas there. Plus we’d love to show you boating on our lakes and rivers. It’s low key and fun boating, which is what we’re all about.

Until we meet again. Ciao

Cheryl;

Actually a big thank you for you participating with your Riva. It was a great time and I'd bet it will be a very long time before that many Riva's are together again on Tahoe.

I love the idea about getting people together for the 2013 International show. you've just been volunteered for that assignment! :)

Please stay in touch.
