OK, here is a "Cool" picture but somewhat depressing.
This Ariston (late 1958) was found by a diver looking for another sunken boat on Lake Dallas, Texas in the mid 1980's.
The people that found the boat tied a rope to it and drug it up out of the water on to the launch ramp.
The story goes that the boat sat there for a short time in the way of other boats being launch so the people were told to move it.
Not knowing what a rare and beautiful boat is was they decided the best thing was to remove all the hardware and burn the hull.
The story continues; after years of storing the hardware and not knowing what to do with it all of the hardware was sold for scrap metal.
What a shame for a Riva Ariston to end that way.
Thanks to Clay Thompson of Altus Oklahoma for finding out this story.
